Still bustling around, busy as ever!

Since returning home, it feels as if Justin and I haven’t stopped! From little projects around the house, to people visiting to taking the boat out- it never seems to slow down. We have loved every second of it though. It’s been so awesome to play hostess to our friends and family as a new wife now. Something about it makes it seem a little different, like I have new standards to live up to now. Even though friends and families have been visiting us since we’ve lived here, it’s different when they are coming to our house, instead of just his house or mine.

Yes, you read it right- we bought a boat! Justin has only been “shopping” for about 8 months now, so it really was an any-day-now type of thing. 😉 You know that you live on the coast when you buy a boat when you get married, and not a house!

Justin has begun to really lead our (two-person) family in a spiritual way. He encourages me to pray and speak to God, as he knows this is something I constantly struggle with. It brings a warmth to my heart to know I have a husband who doesn’t just think of me in a physical way, and thinks of me spiritually, too. There are constant reminders of Justin’s love for me and how he wants us to grow stronger in our walks of faith, together. I admire him for that every day.

One week in and so far, so good!

So far, being Mrs. Pressly absolutely rocks! It’s funny to see how just the little things have changed since we said “I do.” Just the fact that Justin opens the door for me (most of the time) or asks for a reservation for “me and my wife” gives me butterflies. Not that this chapter has been in effect for too long, but it sure has been fun so far!

I want to throw in a huge THANK YOU to family and friends who helped us celebrate our special day. It really means more to us than we can say to know that you love us that much to participate and share in our marriage. We look forward to sharing our future with you, looking to you for advice and growing with each of you in our journey together. We love you!

Our honeymoon was just a dream! We stayed at Moon Palace in Cancun, Mexico for seven blissfully relaxing days. Everyone was so nice and accommodating and you even get stopped when you try to carry your own plate to your table. It was obnoxiously luxurious and we enjoyed every second. The free food and drinks was just the start. 😉 We enjoyed snorkeling, zip-lining and driving ATVs in the jungle, beautiful turquoise water and fun honeymoon friends we will never forget (who got married on the same day we did!). Only missing one excursion, I would say we mastered the language barrier artfully. All in all, it was a perfect honeymoon with the man of my dreams and I will always remember the memories made at Moon Palace.

Now begins the act of Congress to change my last name to match his. I am dreading this process but can’t wait to officially see my new name on all of the mail that circulates to our home. Speaking of home! We are so excited to have a home to share and start all of the projects we are hoping to conquer. I will list a few below, in hopes of the blogging world holding me accountable. (Any encouragement is most welcome!)

  1. Paint kitchen table
  2. Create gallery wall in living room
  3. Plant flowers in front flower beds
  4. Actually decorate the bedrooms
  5. Organize the garage (cluttered already- I know, hard to believe)

Five is enough; let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

Living at the beach, we are pumped to finally have weekends to enjoy together, spending time with friends, in the sun and savoring each other’s company as husband and wife. Stay tuned for new posts on our adventures, lessons and all other things that come with being newlyweds. I can’t wait to share them with you!

Xoxo,

Mrs. Pressly
